The fifth cohort of the Local Pathways Fellowship is bringing together a network of 101 young thought leaders, urban planners, sustainability advocates, researchers and innovators from 80 cities across the world to advance local dialogue, collaboration and problem solving around the Sustainable Development Goals and to make cities and urban settlements “smart, fair and sustainable”.

**Aashraya Seth**
Lucknow, India
**Founder, The Intelligent Indian and Menstrual Hygiene Friendly Spaces**
Aashraya is an award-winning social innovator and founder of projects like STEMinism in India, Alvida Patriarchy, Menstrual Hygiene Friendly Spaces among others, most of which acts as a case study for MENA and ASEM countries. He has led several development projects of the British, Indian, and Australian governments and was recently placed amongst the top-80 social innovators in India and top-50 emerging policy leaders in the world.

**Abubakarr Ibrahim Ndopaie**
Kenema City, Eastern Sierra Leone
**Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Conservation Society of Sierra Leone**
Abubakarr Ibrahim Ndopaie is a Sierra Leonean, M&E Officer (Conservation Society of Sierra Leone), a conservationist and an advocate for clean, safe and resilient cities and climate change in Kenema. He obtained a Bachelor degree in Sociology, and upon graduation he involved in several volunteering and advocacy, which targeted urban waste management and solution to alleviate the impacts of climate change to enhanced environmental sustainability.

Ahmad is a civil engineer with an experience in development project management and facilitation. He aims to integrate his development experience and engineering knowledge to promote the concept of sustainable construction by empowering engineers and setting regulations. His work as facilitator for an engineering group within a capacity building program led to an initiative aimed to promote sustainable and smart city concepts among the engineers.

Ahmed Bahaeldin is a progressive professional project manager with diversified industries experience. He is driven by identifying innovative approaches and improving solutions to business & community challenges. Ahmed has a deep passion and great interest in urban research, community participation, and sustainable development.

**Amir Hosseini**
Melbourne, Australia
Amir is a Civil Engineer and an Urban Planner. Passionate about cities and the built environment, his interest is in sustainable communities, urban transport, and water conservation. He has a multi-disciplinary background in civil construction, project management and delivery, as well as quantitative and qualitative research.

Aniruddhsinh is an urban manager by education who has a strong inclination towards climate change and sustainability. His Post-Graduation research work on “Climate smart cities: Enhancing indicators of air quality and water management” has been published in peer reviewed journals. He is currently working as a consultant in the fields of climate change, sustainability and air quality.

**Anthony Chinweuba**
Enugu, Nigeria
**Activist on the #SpeakUpStandOut project, Nigeria Youths SDGs Network**
Anthony Chinweuba is an Urban planner, an activist in the SpeakUpStandOut program, and a youth participation advocate. He is also a Place branding enthusiast who wishes to apply his branding skills in the development of branded cities in Nigeria, while using his design skills as a major tool for communication of innovative ideas. He is currently, a Google digital skills and LinkedIn marketing labs certified professional.

**Asadullah Hanif**
Herat, Afghanistan
**Urban Planner, UN Habitat**
Asadullah Hanif received his Master's degree in Urban Planning. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad-I.R.I. In his career, he has six years of professional experience in urban planning and development, qualitative and quantities research. Recently, he has worked as an urban planning specialist at UN-Habitat, where he has led the team to develop Herat Municipality Strategic Action Plan.

**Austin Wu**

Austin Wu (MPH) is currently a research assistant at the University of British Columbia School of Population and Public Health and a columnist for the Iowa City Press-Citizen, where he has extensively written about local history and urban design, especially in how taking cues from historic forms of vernacular development can be a pathway towards deceased automobile dependence and more sustainable, healthier ways of urban living.

**Ayadi Mishra**

Ayadi is a recent graduate in B.Arch with a focus on Urban Design and Sustainability. Experienced in advocacy, designing and climate action, Ayadi's main research focuses on SDG 11 to empower and uplift communities. Working with several NGOs and Youth Organizations, she is currently involved with the WEAll UK Hub to further ideas of circularity in economy as a research lead.

Chimwemwe is a final year student at University of Malawi, pursuing BA Political Science minoring Development Economics. He will finish his studies in April this year. Chimwemwe has passion in sustainable development issues and good governance. Chimwemwe has been leading in different groups including research groups. He was an internee of Lilongwe city council under Human resource management department in 2019.

**Clarence Mwalwali**

Clarence Mwalwali was born in 1996 on the 21st of May in Kawambwa district in Luapula province, Zambia. Attended primary school at Mutema Chime school from Grade 1 to 7 while junior secondary school at Kabulonga Basic School from 2010 to 2011and high school at Hillcrest National Technical High school in 2012 to 2014. Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in economics final year at Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia.

Sitati a researcher whose interest focuses on green mobility and innovation as ways of addressing the challenges of climate change. Her goal is to use research to inform policy, and help humanity fight Air Pollution and climate change in her capacity as a researcher and make a significant contribution towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Sub-Saharan Africa.

**Daniel Adeola Adeagbo**
Lagos, Nigeria

Daniel Adeagbo Adeola is a social worker with key interest in youth and social development. In 2021, He completed a project titled Students Security Nigeria aimed at finding sustainable solutions to the problem of insecurity in schools and communities across Nigeria. Dheamyra Aysha Ihsanti is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, where she is on top of her class. She has a high interest in creating sustainable transportation. She’s keen on deepening her knowledge of transportation planning. Dhea has experience on a research project for Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, detailed spatial plan, and comparative study on SDGs 11.2 sustainable transportation.

**Dominic Naidoo**

Dominic is an environmental and climate activist based in Durban, South Africa. He is the International Media & Communications Coordinator at Open Dialogues on Climate Change as well as one the country's youngest environmental journalists focusing on issues pertaining to climate change and wildlife trafficking. Involved in several national youth initiatives, Dominic places a special focus on youth participation in environmental activism.

**Eizelle Therese Yee**
Quezon City, Philippines
**Asia Pacific Development Officer, Junior Chamber International**
Eizelle Yee leads her own practice of architectural design in Manila. She blends her passion for community building and sustainability through her endeavors. She is currently an Asia Pacific Development Officer for JCI, an organization that aims to provide development opportunities for positive change.
She also co-founded Pocket Garden, a public space design initiative that focuses on turning idle land into more productive spaces like parks.

Emily works as a Design Research Analyst in the architecture industry. With an interest in the built environment’s effect on humans and the planet, she advocates for local green building policies. Emily is also the founder of a public space improvement project that empowers residents to form a safe, accessible, and vibrant gathering place. Her work in these areas reflects her passion for creating sustainable and socially resilient neighborhoods.

**Emmanuel Akandwanaho**
Uganda
**Student, Makerere University**
Emmanuel is a valuation surveyor with a bachelor’s degree in Land Economics from Makerere University and he has worked on property valuations. He also served as the Student Representative under the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda, representing students’ needs and issues on the council. He currently runs a startup, MiahUg, which provides an online marketplace for student accommodation.

**Faiza Solanki**

Faiza is an Architect-Urban Planner with majors in Urban Planning & Policy. She is a certified GHG specialist and delegate at the World Bank Youth Summit Leadership 2021. Experienced in Inclusive Climate Action Planning, Sectoral Decarbonization and Climate Finance, she seats as a Senior Program Associate with the Climate Program at WRI India and supports governments on fostering readiness to mainstream climate action at India’s Subnational scale.

**Farhad Bolouri**

Farhad Bolouri is a Ph.D. and doctoral research assistant in Environmental and Civil Engineering. He researches Higher Education Institutes' Sustainable Development and Climate Change with System Thinking methods, System Dynamics (SD). he is an ambassador from Climate Interactive, and he holds workshops for youths about the En-ROADS climate change tools. His idea of air pollution reduction has won first place in the UNDP competition.

Farzana Alam Eshita, currently studying bachelor of Civil Engineering at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She is also a Vice President of Women in Civil, Resources and Environmental Engineering and an ambassador of STEM Sisters. She is always passionate about sustainability and her dream is to build more sustainable and equitable world using her engineering knowledge. Farzana believes in creativity and codesigning.

Felix is an award-winning writer, aspiring data, research, and finance expert, and a final year undergraduate of Medicine and Surgery. He volunteers for organizations championing the course of building sustainable cities and tackling the menace of climate change. He is equally a passionate advocate for Education-For-All and a strong believer in the change-engendering potencies of ardently pursued Sustainable Development Goals.

Frederick Beckley is a Development Planning Graduate currently working as a Strategist ( Intern) at Siemens Mobility (Pty) Ltd. He graduated his Master at the University of Witwatersrand and is a registered Town Planner. Frederick also publishes quantitative research for open access publication on Urban and Regional Planning issues on Sub-Saharan African cities.

Gertrude Asumadu is a graduate of Msc Public Administration (specializing in International and European Governance) from Leiden University and BSc (Hons) Economics from University of Leeds. She has experience in international affairs specifically in policy, advocacy and campaigns related to equality in education, fighting poverty, eradicating HIV/AIDS, climate justice among others. Giovanna is passionate about urban development and sustainability, especially when combined with social innovation. During her major in Civil Engineering and minor in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of São Paulo, she founded “Paraisópolis’ Prettiest Alley” in the Paraisópolis favela, in São Paulo. Hameedullah is an architect and urban planner with a bachelor’s degree from Kabul University. Professionally, he worked with the Ministry of Urban Development, Kabul Municipality, and private companies in Afghanistan. He published a paper in Springer Link titled “An Empirical Analysis of Sustainability Indicators in an Administrative Complex Design from Urban Planning Perspective". His vision is to have a peaceful and eco-friendly environment.

**Hanako Travin**

Hanako Travin is based at Temple University Japan’s Graduate School in Business Management. Formerly a Keio University undergrad in Environment and Information Studies, her particular interest is in ESG finance. She has conducted multiple internships such as at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and at NGOs to improve communities in Europe and Africa. She attended the HLPF at the UN in 2019 with 5 other students from the Keio xSDGs Research Lab.

Helena is a community developer finishing her undergraduate degree in Development Studies at Lund University. She volunteers as research support at the United Nations Development Programme and is currently working towards just and inclusive urban development in São Paulo. Her deep commitment to social and environmental justice motivates her work, activism, and academic pursuits.

Mujuni is a student of Electrical Engineering at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He is the President of the Mbarara University Engineering Society and Community Director of the SDG Hub at the University. He is focused on sustainable energy and is specializing in renewable solar energy studies. He hopes to accelerate resilient cities that consume renewable energy for environmental conservation.

**Jannatun Nayeem Nowshin**

Nowshin is an Architect & Researcher at Pedagooogia 3000 Research Institute, working towards making a positive impact with humanitarian projects along with co-creating a multidisciplinary education system worldwide. She is working with several educational and youth organizations as well. She has received an Honorary Laureate Diploma from the International Academy of Architecture, ECOSOC, UN. She is currently pursuing her Master's at IAAC, Spain.

**Javier Peñafiel**
Santiago, Chile

Javier Peñafiel is a transportation engineer and master in public policy. Passionate about urban development and sustainable transport issues, he volunteered in informal settlements in Techo and researches on factors that determine changes in urban regulation. He currently works in the Budget Directorate of the Chilean Ministry of Finance, evaluating public programs. He is also a member of the Latin American Public Servants Network.

**Jehad Elmamoon**
Omdurman, Sudan

Jehad Elmamoon is a 25 years old researcher, she studied Architecture at the University of Khartoum. As a Sudanese born and raised female, she finds herself deeply engaged with urban rights and justice in her home city, Khartoum. She's currently pursuing a PG diploma in Sociology to become an Urban Sociologist and contribute to analyze the political, spacial and socioeconomic factors that affects Southern Urbanism.

**Jingyuan Xu**

Jingyuan Xu is a research fellow at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. Her research focuses on sustainable energy technologies aiming at providing technically and economically viable energy solutions for cooling, heating, and power. She is passionate about applying her knowledge and expertise to minimize global primary-energy use and reduce CO2 emissions for a sustainable future.

**Karina Gomes da Silva Junge**
Sao Paulo, Brazil
**Inclusive Cities Consultant, UNESCO**
Karina is a project director with expertise in local implementation of SDGs in cities. With a Master’s degree in Human Rights (University of Graz, Austria), she applies human rights-based approaches to sustainable development-related projects, working in UN agencies, city administrations, and international research centres. She is co-author of the book “Implementing Human Rights and Agenda 2030 at the Local Level”, published by UNESCO.

**Lilia Carolina Moreles Abonce**

A graduate from UNAM, about to hold bachelor's degree in Management and Intercultural Development, pre-specialization on Science, Technology and Society; and an undergraduate Visual Artist. She is also part of the civil association Sustainable Urban Development in Guanajuato, MX. Interested in science communication, sustainable development, gender and arts. Malin Björkner is pursuing her MSc in Industrial Ecology at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Malin is passionate about using technologies to build a more sustainable and equitable world. Maria Virginia Solis Wahnish is from Argentina and a social entrepreneur passionate about connecting with others globally and creating vehicles for social and environmental holistic impact. She is co-founder and CEO of Matera and has work experience with the agricultural and food systems. She currently serves as coordinator of the Agriculture & Justice Village for the Economy of Francesco and co-leads The Farm of Francesco.

**Martin Shiloh Ponce Pabon**
La Paz, Bolivia
**Co-founder and Campaign Coordinator, Red Internacional de Promotores ODS Bolivia**
Martin is The Co- Founder and Campaign Coordinator of Red Internacional de Promotores ODS Bolivia. In this role, Martin shapes the campaigns with an approach he developed centered around four themes: inclusion, art and gender, leadership, and digital culture. Martin has organized events that have reached 8000+ people across Latin America.
Currently Martin serves on the USAID Youth Digital Leadership Council implementing strategies.

Mehar is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Political Science and English Literature from the University of Delhi. She has often explored the complexities in public administration, especially at the grassroots, through the fields of research and policy. Having deep-rooted interests in the mitigation of climate change, income inequality and social injustice, Mehar is driven to create sustainable developmental impact in the society.

**Miguel Antonio Feijoo Fernández**
Caracas, Venezuela
**Instructor Professor & Architect, Universidad Central de Venezuela / Urban Laboro**

Architect and professor of Urban Studies at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Central University of Venezuela, focused on sustainable urban design projects. He is currently finishing a specialization in project management at Andres Bello Catholic University and works as an architect in the urban project Catuche’s dream, which pursues through microprojects and programs consolidate the urban habitat.

**Milena Djelic**
France
After having received a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democracy from the Global Campus of Human Rights, Milena worked as a partnership’s officer in several organizations. Working towards gender equality and inclusiveness, Milena has designed and implemented projects that aimed to fight human trafficking and gender-based violence. Passionate about social inclusion, she wants to focus on how to reinvent more inclusive systems.

Architect, Urban Planner and Founder of Avani - A Social Enterprise to protect River Godavari from Organic Solid Waste dumping and bring social change. She provided consultancy for multiple stakeholders in major Urban Infrastructure Projects. Mustafa is a Laidlaw scholar pursuing his undergraduate degree in anthropology at University College London. He has an interest in sustainability, political ecology and environmental economics. His research has focused on the Anthropocene epoch, and he has led an urban forestry community project in Beirut, Lebanon in partnership with theOtherDada, a regenerative consultancy. Mustafa is also engaged with social justice initiatives on his campus.
