SDSN Youth Announces the Sixth Cohort of the Local Pathways Fellowship

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth Initiative (SDSN-Youth) is excited to announce the 2023 cohort of the Local Pathways Fellows, a 10-month training program that empowers young innovators to analyze their local contexts and develop projects for implementation. This year's fellowship comprises 100 outstanding young professionals from 48 countries and 80 cities, selected from a record-breaking 1250 applications.

The sixth cohort of fellows, who have been selected from a highly competitive group of applicants, consists of young professionals from diverse backgrounds such as urban planning, social entrepreneurship, research, and sustainability. Despite their varied expertise, they all share a common objective of improving their communities by making them sustainable.

The Local Pathways Fellowship aims to build intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable, and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions. The program is dedicated to equipping fellows with the tools to collaboratively and effectively tackle urban development challenges. Through LPF, the 2023 cohort will have the opportunity to connect with other experts in their field, gain valuable insights, and work on innovative solutions for the complex challenges facing urban communities.

"By enhancing our vocations, providing tools, and sharing the belief that we can go further, for me, the Local Pathways Fellowship was a catalyst that rose my dreams and ambitions of my ideas and projects that used to be still timid if I look back before the fellowship"- Yusuke Sakai, a 2022 Local Pathways Fellow based in Campinas, Brazil.

By working together and leveraging their unique skills, the fellows will be well-equipped to tackle the complex challenges facing their communities and make tangible progress toward achieving the SDGs.
