SDSN Youth Announces the 9th Cohort of the Local Pathways Fellowship
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) is pleased to announce the 9th Cohort of the Local Pathways Fellowship (LPF). This year, 100 exceptional young leaders were selected from 1,594 applications, representing 81 cities across 41 countries, following a highly competitive global selection process.
Over the next 10 months, the fellows will embark on a transformative learning journey to advance urban innovation and contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11): Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The Local Pathways Fellowship empowers young leaders working at the intersection of urban development, sustainability, and community impact. Through the program, fellows gain access to training, mentorship, and a global network of peers committed to shaping more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.
Program Experience
Throughout the fellowship, the 9th Cohort will participate in activities designed to strengthen their leadership and project development skills, including:
Training modules focused on sustainable urban development, climate resilience, and inclusive city planning.
Mentorship opportunities with urban practitioners, policymakers, and LPF alumni.
Peer learning exchanges that foster collaboration across cities and regions.
Project development support to help fellows design and implement impactful initiatives within their communities.
Building a Global Network of Urban Leaders
Since its inception, the Local Pathways Fellowship has supported over 700 alumni across more than 100 cities worldwide. Many alumni have gone on to lead urban initiatives, influence local policy, and contribute to sustainable development efforts within governments, civil society organizations, and research institutions.
The 9th Cohort reflects the growing global reach and diversity of the program. Fellows bring perspectives from cities of different sizes and contexts, united by a shared commitment to improving urban life and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Looking Ahead
As the fellowship enters its ninth year, SDSN Youth continues to strengthen youth leadership in urban development by equipping young changemakers with the knowledge, networks, and tools needed to drive sustainable transformation in their cities.
We invite our global community to follow the journey of the 9th Cohort as fellows collaborate, implement projects, and share their impact over the coming months. Updates and fellow stories will be shared on the Local Pathways Fellowship website and across SDSN Youth’s social media platforms.
